Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a seasoned Mechanical Estimator to oversee a diverse portfolio of large-scale, mission-critical projects in commercial real estate and infrastructure for our key clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive estimates and cost plans, including the presentation of final cost assessments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in estimating at various stages, including conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and the preparation of procurement documentation.
  • Manage all procurement processes, including pre-qualification, bid list creation, bid analysis, and contract documentation.
  • Engage in post-contract cost variance management and change control processes, escalating significant changes as necessary.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
  • Prepare monthly post-contract cost reports for client presentations.
  • Participate in value engineering initiatives and negotiate final accounts.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team, ensuring accountability and delivery on objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients and report findings to management.
  • Propose enhancements to cost management procedures, templates, and tools.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive technical experience in all aspects of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procurement methods.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and lifecycle costing.
  • Familiarity with key elements of business development.
  • Broad knowledge and experience across various industry sectors.
Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience in preparing mechanical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing mechanical or MEP estimates on large-scale data centers, high-tech facilities, manufacturing, or commercial projects is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems as they relate to construction.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems.
