Job Summary

Shive-Hattery Inc is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience to join our team in West Des Moines. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing building systems, including plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, fire protection, building automation, and industrial process systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for various projects, including government facilities, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and education facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical team members and multi-disciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, architectural, and civil teams.
  • Produce construction drawings using Revit 3D modeling software.
  • Visit project sites to assist with measuring, data collection, and construction observation duties.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with an HVAC emphasis from an accredited engineering school.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software, Revit preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is desired.
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members in a professional environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to engineering detail.
  • Registration as a Licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer is desired.
