Job Title: Service Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Mechanic to join our team at Seneca Tank. As a Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with liquid bulk tanks, chassis, and fluid delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair structural and operational problems with liquid bulk tanks, chassis, and fluid delivery systems.
  • Replace failing parts to restore proper functioning of equipment.
  • Install additional parts to existing units to upgrade or enhance functioning and/or efficiency.
  • Perform tests required by the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) on petroleum tanks and chassis.
  • Read job orders to determine work to be performed per customer request and/or manager's direction.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience building or repairing diesel, gas, or hydraulic equipment utilizing hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
  • Working knowledge of the proper use, maintenance, and repair of tools used on the job.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to physically perform heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet without correction, color vision, depth perception, and field of vision.

Equipment and Tools:

  • Hand, power, and stationary tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, electric drills, pneumatic ratchets, welding/cutting torches, metal brakes, and metal-cutting band saws.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience building or repairing diesel, gas, or hydraulic equipment utilizing hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
