POSITION: LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER FOR AVIONICS SYSTEMS
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the mechanical design, evaluation, and testing of a phased array antenna and its structural support from initial concept to operational deployment in space.
Conduct thermal, structural, and tolerance assessments utilizing both manual calculations and advanced simulation software.
Create and implement qualification, acceptance, and longevity testing protocols. Execute root-cause investigations for thermal, shock, and vibration-related failures.
Engage in concurrent engineering practices, developing production methodologies and supply chain strategies alongside design initiatives.
Establish and document procedures for engineering activities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 8 years of experience with 3D CAD software.
At least 5 years of experience in high-performance electronics packaging.
A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in thermal, shock, and vibration testing.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in Unigraphics/NX.
Proficient in structural and thermal analysis tools.
Familiarity with Femap and NASTRAN, Ansys, Thermal Desktop, or SINDA/FLUINT.
Experience in designing avionics for mass production, emphasizing manufacturability.
Knowledge in designing for CNC machining, casting, molding, and finishing processes.
Experience in material selection and finishing techniques.
Familiarity with reliability analysis and testing methodologies.
Experience in a leadership role, either technical or team-based.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Availability for extended hours and weekends as necessary.
