Job Overview:
This position is intended for a skilled Process Integration Engineer specializing in Silicon Photonics technology. The role will primarily focus on the execution of the multi-project wafer (MPW) program, with opportunities to engage in various sponsored initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing third-party design intellectual property.
  • Conducting design rule assessments and waiver evaluations.
  • Gathering and analyzing measurement, metrology, and inline testing data.
  • Submitting process and measurement change requests along with change review board (CRB) documentation.
  • Engaging with clients or development partners to comprehend project requirements and provide updates on challenges, risks, and progress.
  • Actively participating in team discussions.
  • Collaborating with fellow integration team members.
  • Coordinating with suppliers, including mask houses, dicing/packaging, and outsourced processes.
  • Providing integration support for the core Photonics MPW program.
  • Documenting findings through reports, papers, and/or patents as necessary.
  • Performing other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for the role include:
  • A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited institution, along with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
OR
  • A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited institution, along with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment, executing various tasks on short notice.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
  • Process development across multiple sectors (LTH, RIE, INS, MTL, CMP, PLT, WET, RTP, ION, EPI).
  • CMOS Process Integration experience, including sustaining and developing processes in a 300mm wafer fabrication facility.
  • Process Integration experience in non-CMOS technologies (MEMS, sensors, magnetics, photonics, etc.).
  • Experience with 2.5D/3D integration and/or heterogeneous integration.
  • Background in modeling or device physics of photonic devices, particularly silicon or III-V photonics.
  • Familiarity with IC layout and verification tools (KLayout, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys).
  • Proven hands-on problem-solving abilities.
