Position Overview for Financial Collections Associate:
  • Compensation: $23/HR
  • Business casual attire is encouraged.
ROLE SUMMARY: The primary responsibility is to contact customers with overdue accounts and work towards securing payments through various methods. Successful performance in this role requires the ability to meet each key responsibility effectively. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for this position. Key Responsibilities for Financial Collections Associate:
  • Alert management regarding high-risk accounts through regular reviews.
  • Maintain a low aging portfolio by engaging with customers to understand reasons for late payments and resolving issues.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding overdue invoices and declined payments on a daily basis.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails from customers, updating accounts with the information provided while also making outbound contacts.
  • Update customer account details and preferences.
  • Assist with various projects and inquiries related to the assigned portfolio.
  • Document information regarding customers' financial status and collection efforts.
  • Meet departmental metrics for communication activities.
  • Manage a high volume of email correspondence efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Cross-train to support department projects as needed.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and suggest improvements for efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the scope of this role.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in collections or customer service is preferred.
  • Familiarity with a business-to-business environment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle objects.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Vision capabilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.
  • The work environment is typically quiet.
  • May work near warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Must report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
