Position Overview for Financial Collections Specialist:

JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility involves reaching out to customers with overdue accounts and facilitating payment collection through various methods. Key Responsibilities for Financial Collections Specialist:
  • Alert management regarding accounts at risk through regular reviews.
  • Maintain a low aging portfolio by engaging with customers to understand reasons for delayed payments and resolving issues.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding overdue invoices and payment declines on a daily basis.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails from customers, updating accounts with relevant information while making outbound contacts.
  • Update customer account details and preferences as necessary.
  • Assist with various projects and responsibilities related to the assigned portfolio.
  • Document customer financial statuses and collection efforts.
  • Meet established metrics for call and email outreach.
  • Sort and respond to a high volume of email correspondence efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-train for backup roles in departmental projects.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures while suggesting improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the role.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in collections or customer service is preferred.
  • Background in a business-to-business environment is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and use hands and fingers for various tasks.
