Job Overview

Position: Quality Control Specialist
Shift: 2pm-10:30am weekdays, with potential for overtime


Position Summary:
The Quality Control Specialist is tasked with performing routine quality assessments of production processes. This role encompasses regular evaluations of food safety and quality control measures, ensuring accurate documentation and timely execution of checks. The specialist is also responsible for confirming that products meet established Good Food standards through systematic inspections and sensory, as well as chemical evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections on the production line to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Perform chemical tests on products to verify adherence to required pH, Brix, viscosity, and moisture content.
  • Execute Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) verifications.
  • Ensure compliance with labeling accuracy standards.
  • Manage and review quality-related documentation effectively.
  • Oversee adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other essential programs.
  • Monitor and enforce Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Plan and execute testing and inspections of materials and finished products to guarantee quality.
  • Verify calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Address customer feedback and non-conformance issues in collaboration with supervisors and management.
  • Confirm that all product characteristics align with specified standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with 3-6 months of experience in Quality Assurance, or
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • HACCP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment, ranging from 30 to 40 degrees.
