Position Overview for Financial Collections Specialist:
  • Compensation: $22/HR
  • Business casual attire is encouraged.

JOB SUMMARY: Engage with customers who have overdue accounts and work towards securing payments by executing the following responsibilities. Successful performance in this role requires meeting each primary duty effectively. The qualifications listed below reflect the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Key Responsibilities for Financial Collections Specialist:
  • Alert management regarding high-risk accounts through regular reviews.
  • Maintain a low aging portfolio by communicating with customers to understand reasons for delayed payments and resolving issues.
  • Contact customers via phone and email to inform them of overdue invoices and declined payments.
  • Handle incoming communications from customers and update accounts with relevant information while making outbound calls.
  • Revise customer account details and preferences as needed.
  • Assist with various projects and inquiries related to your assigned portfolio.
  • Document financial statuses of customers and track collection efforts.
  • Meet established metrics for communication volume.
  • Manage a high volume of email correspondence efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-train to support department projects as needed.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and suggest improvements for efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that fall within the scope of this role.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in collections or customer service is advantageous.
  • Background in a business-to-business environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Adept at multitasking.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and use hands and fingers for various tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to talk and hear.
  • Visual abilities must include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 20 pounds may be required.
  • The work environment is typically quiet.
  • May be near warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Punctuality and the ability to work overtime as necessary are required.
