Vice President of Project Financing

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Vice President of Project Financing, you will be responsible for managing the execution and implementation of over $3 billion in new loans that CIM aims to secure for various infrastructure initiatives and associated portfolio entities. This role necessitates ongoing communication and collaboration with lenders, external consultants, CIM's internal investment teams, capital markets, and support staff, as well as senior executives within our portfolio companies. The Vice President's duties will encompass market analysis, research, due diligence on projects or companies, and continuous oversight throughout the duration of each loan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in developing financial models in collaboration with CIM Investments, Portfolio Oversight, and associated companies.
  • Prepare comprehensive information memorandums outlining potential investments in projects or portfolio companies for prospective lenders. Evaluate proposals and present findings to the management team.
  • Conduct research on capital markets for infrastructure asset acquisitions, company buyouts, and project financing deals.
  • Ensure adherence to CIM Capital Markets policies and procedures, including lender outreach, proposal requests, term sheet negotiations, and subsequent due diligence activities.
  • Engage in strategic discussions regarding capital market requirements and provide regular updates to management teams on capital market processes.
  • Analyze asset-level budgets and forecasts to understand business plans at the asset level in relation to fund-level strategies. Conduct financial analyses at the asset level to support fund-level business initiatives necessary for executing the capital markets strategy for each asset or business.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment banking or finance with a focus on M&A, project finance, or transaction-oriented consulting.
  • Experience across various infrastructure sectors, including digital, renewable energy, waste and water management, transportation, and/or digital infrastructure is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in financial modeling is essential.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure capital markets.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to establish and meet realistic deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, highly driven and results-oriented, with a strong focus on processes and excellent organizational and communication abilities.
