Position Overview:

BankTalent HQ is in search of a dedicated risk management professional to become a part of the Operational Risk Support team within the Operational Risk Management (ORM) division. This team is instrumental in overseeing comprehensive programs aimed at assisting senior leadership in pinpointing, evaluating, and tracking significant risks along with their corresponding controls.

Joining the Operational Risk Management team presents a unique opportunity to build a solid foundation for a career in banking, as risk analysts gain exposure to the extensive operations of the bank.


Key Responsibilities:

The Risk Analyst will collaborate with team members to facilitate the identification of controls within Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), validate management control testing, generate control reports, and execute various ad hoc control projects.

This role involves maintaining risk data within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance tool, as well as providing essential guidance and reporting to management.

The Risk Analyst is expected to deliver leadership, analytical skills, and critical thinking necessary to strengthen BankTalent HQ's risk and control framework, thereby enhancing customer experience, operational excellence, efficiency, and profitability.


Specific Duties Include:
  • Assisting in the RCSA process with managers across the organization.
  • Evaluating control testing activities conducted by management.
  • Identifying and assessing key risks (e.g., operational, financial reporting) and their related controls.
  • Analyzing risk and control data to provide valuable insights to management and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting ongoing improvements to optimize and streamline processes.

Additionally, the analyst will promote efficiencies and automation for both business and risk management teams.


  • Administering risk assessment and control testing programs using the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool.
  • Making recommendations and implementing various operational risk management initiatives.
  • Performing other assigned duties as necessary.

The work environment is dynamic, with Risk Analysts frequently assessing different banking processes at both micro and macro levels while collaborating with management throughout the organization.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in audit, risk management, compliance, financial services, or a closely related field. A combination of education and experience may fulfill qualifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and other database, analysis, and reporting tools, including MS Power BI, along with strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of risk and control assessment techniques, concepts, and accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with various banking and governmental regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and engage with others in various support and leadership roles.
  • Advanced interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and process mapping skills; experience with IBM Blue Works Live is a plus.
  • Knowledge of process improvement and automation techniques.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
