About the Role

Slopepay is seeking a highly skilled Risk Underwriter to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a key member of our Risk Operations team, you will play a critical role in managing credit and fraud risk for our growing customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain operational initiatives to manage credit and fraud risk
  • Analyze payment, credit, operational, and compliance risk
  • Balance risk management initiatives with customer needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure underwriting practices align with company goals and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and monitoring dashboards with data science and customer success teams
  • Ensure timely repayment from customers through outbound and inbound communication
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in risk underwriting/management
  • Experience with consumer/small business lending and payments risk management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a relentless drive
  • Comfortable with handling ambiguity and creating processes from scratch
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Iterative mindset
  • Strong skill set with Google Documents/Sheets/Slides, Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Python
