Overview:

BankTalent HQ is looking for a dedicated risk management professional to become a vital part of the Operational Risk Support team within the Operational Risk Management (ORM) division. This team is responsible for overseeing comprehensive programs that assist senior leadership in recognizing, evaluating, and monitoring significant risks and their associated controls.

Key Responsibilities:

The Risk Analyst will collaborate with team members to facilitate the identification of controls within Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), validate management control testing, generate control reports, and undertake various ad hoc control projects.

This role involves maintaining risk information within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance tool, as well as providing guidance and reporting to management.

The Risk Analyst is expected to contribute leadership, analytical skills, and critical thinking necessary to enhance the risk/control environment at BankTalent HQ, implement the Risk Management framework, and support the bank's commitment to customer satisfaction, operational excellence, efficiency, and profitability.

  • Support the RCSA process in collaboration with managers across the organization.
  • Review control testing activities conducted by management.
  • Identify and evaluate key risks (e.g., operational, financial reporting) and related controls.
  • Analyze risk and control data to deliver insights to management and other stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvements to enhance and streamline processes, supporting efficiencies and automation for business and risk management teams.
  • Administer risk assessment and control testing programs in Archer RSA, the bank's governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tool.
  • Make recommendations and develop operational risk management initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The environment is dynamic, as Risk Analysts frequently assess various bank processes on both micro and macro levels and collaborate with management throughout the organization.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in audit, risk management, compliance, financial services, or a closely related field. A combination of education and experience may fulfill qualifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and other database, analysis, and reporting tools, including MS Power BI, along with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Understanding of risk and control assessment techniques and concepts, as well as accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with various banking and government regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and in various support and leadership roles.
  • Advanced interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and process mapping skills; experience with IBM Blue Works Live is a plus.
  • Knowledge of process improvement and automation techniques.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
