Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Construction Project Supervisor serves as the primary representative of the company, tasked with overseeing the daily operations of construction projects. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are executed safely, adhere to timelines, remain within budget, meet quality benchmarks, and surpass client expectations. The Supervisor is responsible for devising a comprehensive plan for project execution and ensuring that daily and weekly tasks align with this strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Duties:

  • Interpret project specifications, blueprints, and job orders to guide the construction team.
  • Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and project management systems for effective project oversight.
  • Delegate tasks to carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors while ensuring clear communication of company policies.
  • Set daily production targets and foster a collaborative environment among team members.
  • Conduct inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records including timecards and daily reports.
  • Manage material orders and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Understand and implement environmental regulations and safety protocols on-site.

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors to foster future project opportunities.
  • Promote the company’s vision and values in all interactions.

Financial Oversight:

  • Provide accurate cost estimates for project-related orders and manage material usage efficiently.
  • Analyze monthly job reports to identify areas for cost control and implement necessary adjustments.

Planning and Scheduling:

  • Create and update construction schedules using project management software.
  • Adjust work sequences to meet project timelines while considering equipment and personnel capabilities.
  • Communicate schedule updates to all stakeholders involved in the project.

Training and Development:

  • Mentor and train junior staff and team members to enhance their skills and competencies.

Safety Management:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce compliance with safety regulations.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and training sessions for all site personnel.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in preparing work packages and scopes for subcontracted services.
  • Support the Project Manager in cost estimation for change orders and participate in key project meetings.
Qualifications:

1) Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
2) Successful completion of required safety training and certifications.
3) Proven experience in construction management and project oversight.
4) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project needs.
5) Willingness to work flexible hours and in various environmental conditions.
