This position encompasses a range of responsibilities tailored to various project types and timelines, providing both technical and administrative support in the field.
During the initial project phase, the Construction Operations Coordinator will aid in document reviews, prepare essential deliverables, and engage in pre-bid site assessments.
The Coordinator will play a key role in estimating overall project expenses by analyzing intricate proposals and investigating costs related to labor, materials, and equipment.
They will also create a preliminary timeline for engineering and construction activities, establishing General Conditions as specified in the bidding documents, which include necessary personnel, temporary facilities, security, and safety protocols.
In the planning and execution stages, the Construction Operations Coordinator will collaborate with the project team, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.
They will coordinate the timely delivery and installation of materials and equipment alongside field personnel and suppliers.
Additionally, they will prepare and evaluate increasingly complex submittals, distribute construction documents and layouts to field teams, respond to inquiries, and manage requests for information (RFI).
The Coordinator will oversee and guide project activities of varying complexity, interpreting specifications and drawings for site supervisors and foremen.
They will conduct inspections to uphold Quality Control (QC) standards across project sites.
Furthermore, they will collaborate with Health and Safety experts to assess the safety performance metrics of potential subcontractors and suppliers during the procurement process.
As projects near completion, the Construction Operations Coordinator will partner with the Project Manager to finalize all contract-required deliverables and adhere to company close-out protocols.
They will close all subcontract and purchase orders, develop final record drawings and as-builts, and ensure all close-out submissions are documented and approved. They will work with the team to conduct final inspections, address punch lists, and guarantee client satisfaction.
Depending on project requirements and after receiving appropriate training, the Coordinator will collaborate with the project manager and VDC team to identify project capability needs and develop a VDC plan.
They will facilitate solutions through collaboration with design and project teams using VDC, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and traditional collaboration techniques.
The Construction Operations Coordinator will undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information:
CDM Smith reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc., as well as credit and motor vehicle checks when applicable for certain positions. Additionally, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated roles. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States.
