Position Overview:

The Senior Project Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing and analyzing financial aspects of new construction initiatives. This position involves developing, monitoring, and evaluating budgets alongside actual expenditures, ensuring that all financial operations align with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial support for pre-operations efforts, including marketing and merchandising.
  • Collaborate with the Blue-Sky team to create budgets and track costs for potential construction projects.
  • Assist in implementing the financial and cost management system (WORKDAY) across all projects.
  • Review contract scopes and payment terms related to various projects.
  • Report directly to the Director of Project Finance, contributing to a comprehensive database for improving project budgeting accuracy.
Essential Duties:

Ensure accurate tracking of project commitments, costs to date, and trends in estimated final costs (EFC). Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and updating project cash flows monthly with input from the project team.
  • Providing forecasts for cost-to-complete and identifying potential spending risks.
  • Working closely with project managers, estimators, and purchasing teams to ensure smooth budgeting and scheduling processes.
  • Monitoring project progress to meet budgetary and timeline objectives.
  • Developing regular status reports for stakeholders regarding project advancements.
Budget Management:

Oversee the development and management of project budget estimates for various areas, including:

  • Retail, Bar/Café, and front and back of house operations.
  • Reviewing evolving design documents and updating estimates accordingly.
  • Creating value engineering components to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Compiling project summaries on costs upon project completion.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or theme park estimating.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications for report creation and data presentation.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and present cost estimates effectively.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with vendors and contractors.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related fields; a Master's degree and CPA are preferred.
