Job Summary

The Center For Veterans Issues is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and programmatic support to the Bureau of Transitional Housing and Programs. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Bureau, requiring an extraordinary attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Director with all aspects of the Director's responsibilities, including planning and coordination of meetings and events.
  2. Log donations, prepare thank you letters, and maintain office operations, including ordering supplies and processing mail.
  3. Maintain agency databases, perform entry/exits into the HMIS system, and set up distribution lists in Outlook.
  4. Serve as receptionist, answer incoming telephone calls, and greet visitors.
  5. Create and maintain central office records and files, including contracts and related documents.
  6. Manage mailings, maintain calendar, and set up meetings for the Director.
  7. Coordinate agenda for staff meetings, prepare notes and assignments, and manage volunteers and interns.
  8. Conduct preliminary client interviews and schedule appointments/meetings for participants.
  9. Assist Case Managers and program staff with client follow-up and data entry.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school.
  • Three to five years' experience or training in administrative skills.
  • Able to pass a criminal background check as it relates to the position.
