The Land Acquisition Project Manager plays a pivotal role within the Project Siting Team, focusing on the creation of a robust project development pipeline. This position requires a blend of personal expertise and collaborative skills to identify appropriate land, articulate compelling value propositions to landowners, comprehend land control agreements, and negotiate terms for future utility-scale solar project locations. Candidates should possess a background in real estate, land contracting, or legal affairs, coupled with a passion for fostering relationships with landowners and adept problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a dedicated team, concentrating on the ERCOT Region of Texas and the PJM Market Region, to develop land acquisition strategies.
  • Engage with property owners to identify land suitable for utility-scale solar projects.
  • Design outreach initiatives to spark interest among targeted landowners.
  • Negotiate and finalize ground lease agreements, purchase contracts, and easements with landowners.
  • Facilitate meetings with landowners, both virtually and in-person.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to uncover new land acquisition prospects.
  • Develop and tailor land use proposals for landowner consideration.
  • Coordinate with GIS and Transmission teams to effectively assess opportunities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate, business development, land contracting, or related fields within the renewable energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of mineral development is crucial for evaluating and acquiring land for energy projects.
  • A proactive mindset towards business development, with a focus on identifying and pursuing new opportunities to enhance the company's land portfolio.
  • Extensive experience in negotiation and contract management, ensuring agreements align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships that facilitate successful land acquisitions.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to address complex land acquisition challenges and develop innovative solutions.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, energy management, or a related field.

Work Environment:

  • This position offers remote work flexibility with an option for in-office collaboration. Expect up to 50% travel.
  • Preference will be given to candidates residing in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana, though all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
