Job Overview

The Land Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in the acquisition of land and rights of way for various construction and operational projects. This position is based in Houston, Texas, and involves collaboration with multiple agents to facilitate the acquisition of pipeline access and easements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the acquisition of land and rights of way by engaging directly with landowners.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports concerning easement rights, title updates, and landowner claims.
  • Negotiate and draft legal agreements related to real property transactions.
  • Interpret complex legal provisions and ensure compliance with various permitting requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve damage claims, including negotiation and settlement processes.

This position requires a strong understanding of legal agreements and the ability to navigate the permitting landscape across private, local, state, and federal agencies. The role is primarily office-based, with no remote work options available.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in land acquisition and rights of way.
  • Proficient in preparing easement rights reports and handling landowner claims.
  • Experience in acquiring necessary permits from various agencies.
  • Strong background in settling damage claims and issuing compensation.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with GIS, Excel, and Outlook; experience in the midstream industry is a plus.
  • 5+ years of title experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
