  • Possession of a valid SECRET security clearance.
  • Assists in defining system scope and objectives through research and analysis combined with a fundamental understanding of business systems and industry standards.
  • Involves the assessment of business and user requirements, documenting specifications, and modifying existing system logic as directed by experienced Business System Analysts.
  • Capable of evaluating the business implications of technology applications in the current operational environment.
  • Experience with Agile Client and COP database products, including the downloading of imagery, overlays, and placemarks.
  • Functional understanding of how a Command utilizes COP and the requirements for receiving the Common Operational Picture from relevant military commands.
  • Experience with Redhat, Linux, and Unix systems in relation to GCCS-J software.
  • Collaborates with the Joint Support Service Center (JSSC) for software upgrades as released by the GCCS-J Program Management Office (PMO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate short and long-term IT strategies by identifying specific technological solutions and opportunities for technology refresh to meet mission objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the Lifecycle Management Plan.
  • Implement agile methodologies across all changes, releases, and initiatives.
  • Design, prototype, and evaluate proposed server and workstation configurations prior to implementation.
  • Install, relocate, and finalize configurations for servers and workstations as they are deployed.
  • Coordinate fielding implementation timelines with relevant parties.
  • Submit Requests for Change in accordance with Change Management Policies.
  • Provide acceptance criteria and testing summaries for government-owned contractor-operated (GOCO) equipment.
  • Conduct user acceptance, performance, accessibility, security, and system testing.
  • Prepare pre-deployment release notes, documentation, records, and artifacts for updates and archival in the change management repository.
  • Review issues and known errors identified during development/testing and collaborate with local divisions to determine solutions and communicate them to the customer.
  • Establish release plans that outline rollout strategies, production support, roles, and responsibilities for each action.
  • Implement all approved changes, urgent upgrades, and enhancements of government-furnished equipment (GFE), commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) systems.
  • Design network infrastructure, create dataflow diagrams, perform bandwidth analysis, ensure information assurance compliance, and conduct impact assessments.
  • Provide resource support for network troubleshooting in conjunction with the Network Owner, application installation, integration, system performance, and patch deployment.
  • Verify that information assurance compliance criteria are met during hardware/software testing and integration.
  • Analyze, identify, and report all network-related issues.
  • Ensure future solution implementations meet compatibility and interoperability standards while maximizing network performance.
  • Deliver both local and remote technical support, including pre-deployment assessments, system diagrams, technical documentation, and coordination of external support.
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on hardware, software, operations, and personnel, providing trade-off analyses of alternative designs.
  • Document all benchmarks, milestones, and test results; provide guidance for implementation.
  • Conduct bandwidth optimization and performance analysis; ensure thorough documentation of captures.
  • Research and identify emerging technologies and advancements; submit findings for customer review and approval.
  • Utilize automated government routing systems to provide test plans for government review and approval prior to project initiation.
  • Generate a test report detailing application overview, testing scope, metrics for test cases, defects identified, and recommendations.
  • Conduct quality assurance planning and testing of all products before delivery.
  • Provide fielding, integration, and testing support for systems on customer networks, ensuring operational testing of configurations prior to installation.
  • Install servers and migrate applications from physical and virtual platforms based on requirements; diagnose and resolve common hardware and software issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, policies, and standards during hardware and software testing and integration.
  • Maintain IT networks, including alternate routes and databases.
  • Monitor systems for GCCS and provide service availability reports to government leads.
  • Deliver status reports on system updates and failures regularly.
  • Track and report on all Authorized Service Interruptions affecting HQ systems.
  • Support enterprise network monitoring initiatives.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for database systems, including VIP monitoring and problem resolution.
  • Facilitate cyber vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Perform imaging of computer systems.
  • Engage with external organizations and users overseeing the DoDIN-A.
  • Administer infrastructure comprising classified and unclassified networks.
  • Maintain training and certification relevant to supported equipment and technology, including Windows server OS and UNIX/Linux servers.
  • Install, integrate, upgrade, and administer servers or systems holistically; identify and resolve OS or user operation issues through diagnostics.
  • Install, upgrade, and manage applications, including user profiling and access rights assignment.
  • Conduct maintenance operations, including login control and virus detection.
  • Install, configure, and relocate hardware components such as servers and switches.
  • Test and maintain servers, including software releases and patches.
  • Manage network operations and resolve user issues, providing guides and aids to system owners.
  • Coordinate with service NEC to modify system components and monitor performance.
  • Comply with IT management policies regarding operations.
  • Execute system accounting functions to track resource usage.
  • Evaluate system performance to recommend changes to programs and configurations.
  • Conduct daily operational checks of all systems and applications, reporting findings to leadership.
  • Ensure cybersecurity compliance, including adherence to lAVA and STIG standards.
  • Maintain and operate closed restricted networks and standalone systems supporting specific functions.
  • Test and validate cross-domain solution interoperability with customers and external agencies.
  • Provide administrative services for report development and submission.
  • Monitor and script applications to ensure resource availability for users.
  • Maintain daily operations of Secure FTP servers for high availability.
  • Coordinate changes to file shares with local and remote user communities.
  • Escalate unresolved mission command issues to appropriate support agencies.
  • Maintain an active CDS account and server documentation.
  • Keep contract management informed of user problems impacting mission accomplishment.
  • Provide Systems Management Center support for IT enterprise operations.
  • Monitor and manage infrastructure components on a 24x7 basis, serving as a crisis management center during emergencies.
  • Interface with agencies to ensure efficient and secure network operations.
  • Prepare and maintain guidelines and SOPs, including user guides and knowledge repositories.
  • Conduct OS-related maintenance on infrastructure servers.
  • Maintain log servers for security monitoring and reporting.
  • Research and submit requests for server implementation updates.
  • Update infrastructure topology for managed applications.
  • Provide updates to software changes to the Definitive Media Library promptly.
  • Conduct hardware and software maintenance on government-furnished parts.
  • Return failed hardware components for replacement as required.
  • Perform fault management to identify and resolve system and network issues.
  • Distribute approved software to servers and workstations as requested.
  • Utilize planning tools for hardware and software inventory and compliance checking.
  • Employ deployment tools for electronic software distribution and remote diagnostics.
