Job Overview:
Key Qualifications:
- Manage and operate GCCS-J COP systems utilizing COP Synchronization Tools and software applications to oversee the Customer COP.
- Coordinate joint track/data operations and manage the comprehensive COP database, ensuring effective implementation and operation of GCCS-J COP architectures for both exercises and real-world missions.
- Facilitate the integration of diverse sensor data from theater COP Correlation Sites along with supplementary data from external sources, while directing interface procedures and architecture adjustments.
- Assess and incorporate new COP capabilities and technologies, including Friendly Force Tracking (FFT) and multi-tiered COP systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of ICSF and Agile Client, while overseeing communication monitoring, data flow tracking, and overall database functionality.
- Adhere to all relevant guidelines for maintaining the COP, including troubleshooting and reporting any deficiencies or downtimes through established methods.
- Ensure the accuracy and proper configuration of the JOC display in accordance with daily events and focus areas.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a Common Operational Picture / Common Tactical Picture, with a requirement for Top Secret Clearance.
- Exhibit self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Show the capability to systematically and proactively analyze issues and identify effective solutions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Formulate both short-term and long-term IT strategies by identifying specific technological solutions and opportunities for technology refresh to meet mission objectives.
- Develop and oversee the Lifecycle Management Plan.
- Implement agile methodologies across all changes, releases, and initiatives.
- Plan, prototype, and evaluate proposed server and workstation configurations prior to deployment.
- Install, relocate, and finalize configurations for servers and workstations as they are deployed.
- Coordinate fielding implementation timelines with relevant parties.
- Submit Requests for Change for all actions as outlined in Change Management Policies.
- Provide acceptance criteria and testing summaries for GOCO equipment.
- Conduct user acceptance, performance, accessibility, security, and system testing.
- Prepare pre-deployment release notes, documentation, records, and artifacts for release updates and archival in the change management repository.
- Review issues and known errors identified during development/testing and collaborate with local divisions to determine solutions and communicate them to the Customer.
- Define release plans that include rollout strategies, production support, roles, and responsibilities for each action listed.
- Deploy all approved changes, emergent upgrades, and enhancements of GFE, COTS, and GOTS systems.
- Design network infrastructure, create dataflow diagrams, perform bandwidth analysis, ensure IA compliance, and conduct impact assessments.
- Provide resource support for network troubleshooting, application installation, integration, system performance, and patch deployment.
- Confirm that IA compliance criteria and requirements are met during hardware/software testing and integration.
- Analyze, identify, and report all network-related issues.
- Ensure future solution implementations meet compatibility and interoperability standards while maximizing network performance.
- Provide both local and remote technical support, including pre-deployment assessments, system diagrams, and coordination of external support.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on hardware, software, operations, and personnel, providing trade-off analyses of alternative designs.
- Document all benchmarks, milestones, and test results, providing implementation guidance.
- Conduct bandwidth optimization and performance analysis, ensuring thorough documentation of captures.
- Perform market research to identify emerging technologies and advancements, submitting findings for customer review and approval.
- Utilize the automated government routing system to provide test plans for government review and approval prior to project initiation.
- Develop a comprehensive test report outlining application overview, testing scope, metrics, and recommendations.
- Conduct QA planning and testing of all products before delivery.
- Support the installation, integration, and testing of systems on customer networks, ensuring operational testing of configurations prior to installation.
- Assist in server installations/migrations and application updates based on requirements, diagnosing and correcting common hardware/software issues.
- Verify that hardware and software testing and integration comply with applicable government regulations and standards.
- Maintain IT local and remote networks, ensuring operational continuity.
- Monitor all relevant GCCS Family of Systems COP databases, networks, applications, and collaborative tools to ensure situational awareness resources are accessible for operational users.
- Provide regular status reports on system updates and failures.
- Track and report on all Authorized Service Interruptions affecting HQ systems.
- Support enterprise network monitoring initiatives.
- Deliver Tier 2 support for database systems, including VIP monitoring and problem resolution.
- Perform imaging of computer systems and provide cyber vulnerability remediation.
- Interface with external organizations and users overseeing the DoDIN-A.
- Create, post, and manage unit and installation tracks, integrating and sharing tracks electronically with relevant commands.
- Deliver situational awareness services continuously during crisis action events as directed by Operations and Readiness Directorate.
- Provide COP Management support to G33 Operations and Readiness Directorate as needed.
- Render principal staff services from office areas managed by Operations & Readiness Directorate.
