Job Overview

Daily Responsibilities

  • Assessing and conveying patient requirements to specialists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborating closely with mental health staff to ensure accurate patient documentation, managing all communications directed to our mental health division, and entering patient refill requests and concerns into our electronic health record systems for physician evaluation.
  • Handling patient check-ins and check-outs, gathering necessary registration documents and identification, and processing payments.
  • Exhibiting respect and dignity towards all patients.
  • Demonstrating professionalism and accountability in all tasks.
  • Adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Upholding confidentiality when engaging with patients, families, staff, and the public.
  • Fostering a positive public relations image by maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor.
  • Receiving and documenting phone messages, ensuring all requests are recorded in the electronic health record system for physician follow-up.
  • Utilizing office equipment such as photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Verifying appointment schedules and following up on missed appointments.
  • Maintaining a tidy, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Processing prescription prior authorizations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (can be obtained post-hire).
  • Ability to document session notes and schedule patient appointments using electronic medical records and scheduling software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities, demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
