Position Summary:
Apex Clean Energy is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to be part of the Project Management Department. This role involves overseeing and coordinating technical aspects of renewable energy projects from their inception through to construction completion and ongoing operational support. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with internal teams, including Development, Transmission, Construction, and Operations, to address significant technical challenges and ensure adherence to Apex's technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage third-party engineers tasked with designing substations, transmission lines, and collection systems.
  • Coordinate technical due diligence for renewable energy projects, utilizing both internal and external resources.
  • Analyze technical aspects to identify opportunities for enhancing project value and profitability.
  • Conduct technical assessments to support project development, construction, and operational functions.
  • Ensure the quality of technical concepts aligns with the company's strategic objectives and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for proposals for engineering services, evaluate submissions, and recommend consultants.
  • Facilitate regional requirements and resource planning by coordinating input from specialized skills, whether sourced internally or through local partnerships.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
To thrive as an Electrical Engineer at Apex Clean Energy, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design, particularly in substations and renewable energy systems.
  • Experience collaborating with consulting engineering firms.
  • Proficiency in engineering analytics and root cause analysis for operational renewable energy assets.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to foster teamwork.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Integrity and ethical standards in professional conduct.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and influencing team members.
  • Innovative and adaptable, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with experience in drafting functional and technical specifications.
  • Willingness to work from the company headquarters.

Work Environment:
This position primarily involves traditional office hours in an indoor setting, with flexibility allowed based on work duties and business needs.
