Position: Energy Asset Supervisor

The Energy Asset Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the operations and management of one or multiple project assets owned and operated by East Point. This role will support the execution of the company's strategic objectives in asset management and operations, ensuring the successful delivery of operational projects. Reporting directly to the Director of Asset Management, this position collaborates with the EPC, Project Development, Business Development, and Finance teams. The scope may eventually expand to encompass additional renewable energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance, and performance at operational facilities.
  • Manage operational processes, including planning, control, and performance enhancement.
  • Lead and participate in on-site project meetings.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with contractors, integrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Implement the asset management strategy, primarily focused on standalone energy storage projects, with potential expansion to other renewable technologies.
  • Develop business cases for asset management opportunities, assessing overall risks, benefits, and returns.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, award, and oversee O&M services contracts.
  • Manage warranty agreements with EPCs/OEMs.
  • Facilitate the seamless transition and acceptance of projects from the East Point EPC team.
  • Forecast and manage OPEX budgets for the projects under supervision.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators for assets.
  • Participate in software selection for project management and platform implementation.
  • Implement NERC Compliance procedures as applicable to the projects.
  • Assist in screening project opportunities acquired by East Point across various renewable technologies: energy storage, solar, solar plus storage, and wind.
  • Collaborate on power trading strategies and operational planning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with energy industry representatives and key stakeholders.
  • Work with the East Point EPC team to assess emerging storage technologies, identifying risks associated with integration and operation within the fleet of renewable energy assets.
  • Provide feedback to the East Point Project Development and EPC teams based on lessons learned.
  • Support company strategy and execution beyond Asset Management.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in asset management, including safety, environmental health, quality, technical specifications, scope, budgets, schedules, change orders, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and prioritize information effectively while managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills; capable of conveying information to diverse audiences with varying technical knowledge.
  • Strong contractor management and presentation abilities.
  • Experience in building, leading, and managing a team is advantageous.
  • Specific asset management experience related to grid-scale lithium-ion battery projects.
  • Familiarity with energy storage technology offerings and suppliers, including inverters and transformers.
  • Proficient in negotiating and managing vendor and contractor agreements.
  • Ability to oversee project and portfolio financials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with business management platforms like Salesforce and technical platforms such as SCADA is a plus.
  • Capable of traversing undeveloped land independently, traveling unassisted, and sitting at a computer for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Engineering, Construction/Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, particularly in energy generation projects, with a preference for experience in both distribution- and transmission-interconnected projects.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the operations and management of grid-scale battery energy storage projects.

Travel & Time Commitment:

  • Travel requirements may vary, with an expectation of approximately 25% of the time.
  • This is a full-time, exempt salaried position with standard office hours from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM EST. Project demands may necessitate work outside of these hours.
