Position Overview

InsideHigherEd is seeking a dedicated Financial Aid Consultant to join our Enrollment Services team. This role is pivotal in guiding students and their families through the complexities of financial aid processes, ensuring they have the necessary support to achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Aid Consultant will:

  • Provide comprehensive guidance on available financial aid options, eligibility criteria, and the application procedures to students and their families;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-demand student aid inquiries;
  • Review financial aid documentation for precision and compliance;
  • Disseminate electronic notifications regarding financial aid awards;
  • Assist in the management of operational budgets and related financial requests;
  • Serve as the main liaison for external vendors;
  • Offer counseling to students regarding off-campus housing resources.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree;
  • One to two years of experience in a service-oriented and detail-focused role;
  • Strong analytical abilities and effective problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • The capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently;
  • A commitment to working independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic team environment;
  • A dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations is preferred, along with experience using financial management systems.
