Job Summary

Suffolk University is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Financial Services and Student Systems to join our team. As a key member of the enrollment division, this individual will be responsible for leading and managing financial aid programs, coordinating budget and personnel resources, and providing leadership in the development and implementation of financial aid policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Aid Leadership: Develop and implement financial aid strategies to meet enrollment, retention, and tuition revenue goals.
  • Budget Management: Accurately manage the institutional financial aid budget of approximately $130M annually.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Complete federal, state, and institutional reports, including applications for federal funding and reports on expenditures.
  • Supervision and Development: Direct and oversee the responsibilities of the office, including supervisory duties such as hiring, training, and development, performance management, and evaluation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other offices, including the Advancement Office, Finance Office, Information Technology, Bursar, Admissions, Registrar, and Student Affairs, to ensure mutual support and effective operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive financial aid experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess a thorough understanding of State and Federal laws surrounding financial aid and aid administration, excellent written and oral communication skills, customer service mindset, ability to work and communicate with diverse staff and student population, and experience working with Colleague/Workday information system.
