We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and instruct assigned classes in a way that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Plan and implement a program of study that aligns with district curriculum goals and objectives.
- Establish a positive and productive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and adapt to changing student needs.
- Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
- Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (PreK-8) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
