Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs and abilities of students.
  • Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (PreK-8) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
