Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Middle School Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with moderate disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with moderate disabilities.
  • Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms and specialized settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student learning.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student learning.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (5-12) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Experience working with students with moderate disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
