Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure seamless integration of special education services.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and small groups.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and implement research-based strategies to support student learning.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8).
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
