Elementary Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary Special Education Teacher Grade 2 to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with moderate disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes active learning and engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and implement innovative strategies to enhance student outcomes.
- Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
- Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (PreK-8) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
