Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools - MA. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with severe disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs and abilities of students with severe disabilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Design and deliver engaging and accessible lesson plans that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and adapt to changing student needs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities) and grade level (All) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Experience working with students with severe disabilities and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
