Elementary Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs, and will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to student-centered education and a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the individual needs and abilities of students with special needs.
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure that students receive the support they need.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification in Special Education (PreK-8).
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
