Job Description

In this role, you will be part of Blue Origin's Lunar Permanence business unit, which aims to develop the sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. As an Electrical Power Systems Test Engineer III, your primary focus will be on developing and executing test plans, procedures, and scripts to ensure the reliability and safety of high and low voltage flight hardware.

You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and technicians to design, develop, and integrate vehicle hardware and analysis tooling necessary to verify the requirements and performance of units under test. Your responsibilities will also include debugging and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a lab environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronics hardware development, including testing high voltage switching, power regulation, and signal integrity principles. Experience with analog, digital or mixed-signal circuit design, programming languages like C++ and/or Python, and NI Labview / TestStand is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and scripts to perform shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and vacuum testing on high and low voltage flight hardware.
  • Conduct verification testing, including power-on, functional, acceptance, and qualification testing, and document test results for high and low voltage distribution, power regulation, and conversion hardware.
  • Support the integration of vehicle hardware and analysis tooling necessary to verify the requirements and performance of units under test.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a lab environment.
Requirements
  • B.S. in electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • A breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development, including testing high voltage switching, power regulation, and signal integrity principles.
  • Experience with analog, digital or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles.
  • Experience developing special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab tests and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Experience with programming languages like C++ and/or Python.
  • Ni Labview / TestStand experience.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
