Retail Operations Supervisor

The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the execution of the Retail Store Operational Strategy alongside the General Manager, ensuring that performance targets are consistently achieved. A fundamental aspect of this position is to optimize sales opportunities by aligning the "ideal sales associate" with the "ideal customer".

In this capacity, you will address or delegate customer inquiries in accordance with Robbins Brothers' established policies and procedures. The Retail Operations Supervisor maintains a vigilant awareness of security issues pertinent to store operations.

This role involves close collaboration with the General Manager across all facets of store management. You will partner with various department heads to fulfill company objectives. Additionally, you will assist in the recruitment and selection process for store associates. A key responsibility is to train and mentor store associates, facilitating their professional growth. You will provide specific feedback for performance evaluations and succession planning. The Retail Operations Supervisor exemplifies both sales and management skills, consistently acting in the best interest of Robbins Brothers.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance

  • Complete all mandatory onboarding and training modules within the designated timeframe.
  • Participate in all required sales training and educational programs provided by the organization.
  • Exhibit motivation and a strong drive for achieving results.
  • Effectively manage sales requests, handle counter offers to reach mutual agreements, and engage team members for support when necessary, adhering to company policies.
  • Explore product options to meet customer requests and utilize resources to create optimal sales.
  • Demonstrate the ability to close sales and ensure all documentation complies with company standards.
  • Meet individual monthly sales targets as required.
  • Maximize gross margin during negotiations and sales closures.
  • Enhance store revenue by leveraging design and service center offerings.
  • Increase average sale value with each customer interaction.
  • Build a professional network by fostering ongoing relationships with customers, colleagues, and designers to boost sales.
  • Balance the achievement of personal sales goals with store management duties.
  • Ensure the delivery of the exceptional Robbins Brothers Experience.

People Development and Sales Management

  • Guide team members in all business aspects, coordinating with the General Manager as needed.
  • Create a positive workplace environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration among associates.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and establish clear expectations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in attracting and assessing sales talent.
  • Facilitate effective hiring and retention of sales associates.
  • Hold team members accountable for sales goals and personal development expectations.
  • Support skill enhancement of sales associates by providing constructive performance feedback and actionable suggestions for improvement.
  • Master the use of the Salesforce system and coach sales associates on its effective utilization.

Merchandise Management

  • Complete required product training within the specified timeframe.
  • Exhibit initiative to gain expert product knowledge and stay informed about incoming merchandise.
  • Demonstrate the ability to sell across all product categories and coach associates to achieve the same.
  • Implement best practices for merchandise displays in accordance with Robbins Brothers' visual guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to coach associates on effective merchandise display techniques.
  • Uphold Robbins Brothers' quality control and security standards in merchandise handling.
  • Guide associates to maximize gross margin while exploring product options.
  • Ensure adherence to product handling processes and documentation policies, coaching associates to do the same.

Store Maintenance

  • Follow store operational guidelines to guarantee an optimal customer experience.
  • Address store maintenance issues promptly.
