POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Manager will oversee a team of IT Field Technicians, serving as the primary contact for clients within the designated region. This role involves close collaboration with clients to prioritize requests and execute tasks in a structured manner. There is ample opportunity for growth and professional advancement in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Technical Execution:

  • Provide coaching to IT Field Technicians to enhance their skills.
  • Work alongside Field Technicians in the field on a daily basis.
  • Manage and support technology-related projects (e.g., security camera installations, room upgrades).
  • Act as an escalation point for Field Technicians regarding end-user devices and data/application services support.
  • Communicate updates to the Grid Services Team and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Grid Team for annual audits of accounts and groups.
  • Identify new client projects and collaborate with the Project Manager to develop them.
  • Implement standardized solutions for technology projects in conjunction with Grid Services.
  • Deliver project communications to clients and staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Close out projects upon completion.
  • Escalate tickets to Grid Services as necessary.
  • Follow up on aged tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct daily team calls and monthly operations meetings.

Client Focus:

Work closely with the executive team and stakeholders to develop a shared vision that aligns technology with long-term district goals. Provide leadership in envisioning how technology can support these objectives.

  • Develop action plans and maintain ongoing communication to manage client expectations.
  • Assist the Regional Director of Technology in setting milestones and planning for clients.
  • Deliver services outlined in support contracts for each client.
  • Communicate project milestones and status updates to clients.
  • Notify clients and staff of outages consistently.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients ordering technology equipment.
  • Maintain accurate client inventory documentation.
  • Ensure updates to account services sheets are completed.
  • Communicate with clients regarding critical issues and escalate grievances as needed.
  • Schedule regular operations meetings with clients.
  • Gather feedback on technician performance from clients.

Team Leadership:

Lead and support teams of IT Field Technicians in decision-making, technology support, and professional development.

  • Ensure accuracy in time and data entry by reviewing timesheets weekly.
  • Delegate daily tasks to Field Technicians based on location.
  • Manage project deadlines and communicate issues to the team and upper management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Field Technicians with questions or issues.
  • Set a professional example for the team.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Field Technicians.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews and regular team meetings.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Educational Information Technology.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience in an educational environment.
  • Experience in managing or mentoring staff.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional school environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Physical demands include:

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Frequent standing, climbing, walking, and lifting.
  • Vision abilities including close and distance vision.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time role with typical hours from Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options are available within operational hours.

Travel:

This position may require daily travel within a specified radius. Use of a personal vehicle for travel between sites is necessary.

Pay Rate:

Compensation ranges from $40,000 to $55,000.
