Job Summary:

U-Haul is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our Moving Center operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining a high level of operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Financial Performance: Perform profit/loss analyses, track inventory, and manage the personnel budget to drive business growth.
  • Team Leadership: Hire and mentor new team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University, staying up-to-date on industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or a related service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer expertise and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
