Retail Service Representative

POSITION OVERVIEW
At Columbia Sportswear Company, our retail associates play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences across our extensive network of stores. From managing product availability on the sales floor to crafting visually appealing displays, addressing customer inquiries, and ensuring smooth checkout processes, our team members are vital to our mission of 'Connecting Active People with Their Passions.'
As a Retail Sales Associate, you will act as a brand ambassador, fostering positive interactions with customers and ensuring a memorable in-store experience. Your innate problem-solving skills and sales acumen will be essential in responding to customer questions and making effective product recommendations, all while upholding the values of Columbia Sportswear Company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries related to product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, demonstrating merchandise and suggesting suitable options.
- Uphold store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stockroom, or other inventory locations as needed.
- Execute all cash register transactions accurately and efficiently, including sales, returns, exchanges, and connecting customers to loyalty programs.
- Support store profitability by accurately handling incoming and outgoing product flow, including receiving, replenishing, and processing merchandise.
QUALIFICATIONS
- No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
- Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems and other in-store technology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The role involves frequent movement in a dynamic environment, which may be physically demanding, including the ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Occasional requirements to remain stationary in one place.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule that may vary based on business needs and trends.
