Position Overview

Role: Community Living Specialist 1 - Proficient in American Sign Language - Full-Time

Location: Remote with required travel within designated regions.

Compensation: $19.55 per hour, accompanied by a biweekly stipend of $40 for bilingual capabilities.

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct outreach services to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Late Deafened, facilitating their journey towards greater independence.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships that empower consumers to fulfill their personal aspirations and goals.
  • Utilize lived experiences with Deaf culture to enhance service delivery.
  • Encourage candidates with backgrounds in human services, residential care, direct support, and caregiving to consider this opportunity.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a solid understanding of Deaf culture.
  • High School diploma or GED with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for transporting participants.
  • Ability to travel within the designated area to access various community resources and settings.
