Job Title: Recovery Support Specialist

At Gandara, we are committed to providing exceptional care and support to individuals in recovery. As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with consumers to establish open communication, support, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supportive contact with persons served to assess their individual needs and provide advocacy services.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with other social service agencies in the community.
  • Provide care and safety for all persons served, interacting with them to assess needs, provide information, and encourage growth and development.
  • Participate in persons served recreational activities and provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Assist program administration with toxicology screenings and provide orientation of services to persons served family members and community interest groups.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work with population in recovery.
  • Ability to structure and organize job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to master First Aid, CPR, Defensive Driving, and Fire Safety.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Displays sound judgment.
  • Ability to provide goal-oriented services.
  • Works well as a team member.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
