Job Title: Community Living Specialist 1

Are you passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently? Do you have a strong understanding of Deaf culture and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)? We are seeking a Community Living Specialist 1 to join our team at Jobs for Humanity

About the Role:

The Community Living Specialist 1 provides direct outreach services to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and/or Late Deafened, enabling them to achieve greater independence. This role involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships with consumers to assist them in achieving self-fulfillment through their life goals and desires.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct outreach services to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and/or Late Deafened
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with consumers to assist them in achieving self-fulfillment through their life goals and desires
  • Lived experience with Deaf culture required
  • Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have a working knowledge of Deaf culture
  • High School/GED plus 2-3 years related or lived experience OR Associate's degree plus 1 year related experience and/or training
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, use of vehicle, and willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle
  • Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, offices, and community organizations
