As a Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will drive revenue growth and enhance account performance through strategic outreach to businesses, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and literary entities within your designated market.

Your role will primarily involve representing Barnes & Noble in the field, nurturing existing partnerships, identifying new sales opportunities, and establishing our presence as a vital resource in the communities we engage with.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed annual sales targets set by the Business Development team while expanding our customer base to align with the Company’s financial goals.
  • Monitor and assess educational trends in your area, actively reviewing relevant legislation to formulate effective sales strategies.
  • Enhance account sales through proactive outreach to potential institutional and corporate clients, employing a structured sales process to identify and engage the right contacts.
  • Leverage technology and media to support customer outreach, virtual sales engagements, and presentations.
  • Generate and qualify leads from various sources, crafting sales action plans and strategies to achieve success across multiple retail locations.
  • Secure initial and ongoing meetings, delivering impactful sales presentations to representatives of corporations, institutions, nonprofit organizations, and literary groups to foster existing accounts and cultivate new business.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with store managers in your market, devising strategies for business development growth while working remotely.
  • Conduct research within communities to uncover localized business opportunities, creating and implementing initiatives to maximize the Company’s sales potential.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and maintain strong client relationships through consistent follow-up on sales activities.
  • Utilize our account management system to effectively oversee the sales process and maintain the customer database.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in business development with strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in sales-driven activities, including outreach, client meetings, sales presentations, and customer follow-up.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the educational sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
