Job Overview

The Maymont Foundation is in search of a Corporate Relations Manager to lead the strategy and execution of our partnerships with businesses and sponsors. This pivotal role will report directly to the Director of Development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development to identify, nurture, and maintain a robust pipeline of corporate and sponsorship funding sources.
  • Oversee a portfolio of funders, including drafting letters of inquiry, proposals, renewal requests, and comprehensive reports.
  • Conduct research to identify and qualify new funding opportunities for the Foundation's operations and priority initiatives.
  • Work alongside team members to create strategic and compelling grant applications, stewardship, and reporting documents.
  • Coordinate and manage the timely completion of proposal and report deadlines in collaboration with development and program teams.
  • Engage with various departments to ensure that sponsorship and stewardship obligations are fulfilled efficiently.
  • Maintain and update the Foundation's database of current and prospective donor records, ensuring the accuracy of funder histories and profiles.
  • Assist the Development department in stewarding donors through effective communication, presentations, outreach, site visits, and appreciation events.
  • Stay informed about all aspects of assigned programs to provide meaningful information to current and potential funders.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team regarding gift recognition and account reconciliation.
  • Support community and fundraising events, which may require work outside of standard hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on persuasive proposal writing.
  • Proficient in donor relations, with the ability to engage effectively with board members, foundation contacts, and program directors.
  • Adaptable and flexible in managing shifting priorities and new opportunities.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and navigating challenges.
  • Quick learner with a commitment to deepening understanding of the Foundation's mission and enhancing written communication skills.
  • Must align with the mission and core values of the Maymont Foundation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating success in proposal writing and/or sponsorship sales.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with a proven ability to manage a growing portfolio of funders.
  • Experience with CRM/donor management systems, tracking engagement strategies, and reporting outcomes.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to engage in frequent sitting, standing, walking, and talking for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
