Corporate Relations Manager

The Maymont Foundation is on the lookout for a Corporate Relations Manager. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of Maymont's partnerships with corporate entities and sponsors. Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the individual will play a crucial role in fostering and maintaining these vital relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Director of Development to identify and nurture a robust pipeline of corporate sponsors and funders.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of funding sources; prepare letters of inquiry, proposals, renewal requests, and comprehensive reports.
- Conduct thorough research to identify and qualify new potential supporters for Maymont's operations and priority initiatives.
- Work alongside team members to craft strategic and compelling grant applications, stewardship materials, and reporting documents.
- Oversee and coordinate the timely completion of proposal submissions and report deadlines in collaboration with development and program teams.
- Engage with various departments within Maymont to ensure that sponsorship and stewardship obligations are fulfilled efficiently.
- Maintain and update Maymont's database of current and prospective donors, ensuring the accuracy of records and funder histories.
- Facilitate donor stewardship through effective communication, presentations, outreach efforts, site visits, and appreciation events.
- Stay informed about all aspects of assigned programs to provide insightful and meaningful information to current and prospective funders.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure proper gift recognition and account reconciliation.
- Support community and fundraising events, which may occur outside of standard working hours.
- Assist with additional duties and tasks as assigned.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on persuasive proposal writing.
- Proficient in donor relations, with the ability to engage effectively with board members, foundation/government representatives, and program directors.
- Adaptable and flexible, capable of managing shifting priorities and seizing new opportunities.
- Proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and navigating challenges.
- Quick learner with a commitment to enhancing understanding of Maymont's mission and improving written communication skills.
- Alignment with the mission and core values of Maymont.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Valid driver's license required with reliable transportation.
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating success in proposal writing and/or sponsorship sales.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; proven ability to manage a growing portfolio of funders and secure diverse funding sources.
- Experience with CRM/donor management systems, tracking engagement strategies, and reporting outcomes.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and talking for extended periods.
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
