About the Role
The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Associate to join our team in the Ambulatory Care Clinics. As a Patient Registration Associate, you will be responsible for setting up patient appointments, providing financial counseling, registering patients, maintaining medical records, and performing various administrative and clerical functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients and update their medical records in a timely and accurate manner
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Process patient payments and handle billing inquiries
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and policies
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Successful completion of a course in billing
- One (1) to two (2) years in healthcare clerical-related experience
- Must speak English proficiently and have legible handwriting
- Strong data processing, computer, and typing skills
- Ability to meet public, communicate clearly on the telephone, and interact with patients, staff, and other hospital departments
- Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in a pressured environment
- Spanish preferred
