About the Role

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Associate to join our team in the Ambulatory Care Clinics. As a Patient Registration Associate, you will be responsible for setting up patient appointments, providing financial counseling, registering patients, maintaining medical records, and performing various administrative and clerical functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients and update their medical records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information
  • Process patient payments and handle billing inquiries
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and policies

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Successful completion of a course in billing
  • One (1) to two (2) years in healthcare clerical-related experience
  • Must speak English proficiently and have legible handwriting
  • Strong data processing, computer, and typing skills
  • Ability to meet public, communicate clearly on the telephone, and interact with patients, staff, and other hospital departments
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in a pressured environment
  • Spanish preferred
