Patient Care Associate

The Brooklyn Hospital Center seeks a skilled Patient Care Associate to provide high-quality patient care and support under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic nursing care to patients, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
- Implement selected aspects of the patient's nursing plan of care, as directed by the Registered Professional Nurse.
- Assist with phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, and rapid COVID testing, and document results in designated systems.
- Perform quality electrocardiogram tests and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify and address patient needs, including those related to suicidal risk and trauma.
- Utilize computer systems to document patient information and communicate with the healthcare team.
- High School Graduate or GED
- Completion of Medical Assistant program (highly preferred)
- Completion of EKG/Phlebotomy training program from an accredited institution
- One year of patient care experience in a healthcare facility
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training and/or Certification completed within 90 days of hire and every two years thereafter
