Patient Care Associate

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is a leading provider of LGBTQ+ healthcare services. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our team.
Job Summary:The Patient Care Associate will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to our medical staff. This role will be responsible for managing front desk reception duties, maintaining patient flow, and providing administrative support to clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients and visitors
- Manage front desk reception duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking in/out patients
- Maintain efficient patient flow and coordinate with medical staff to minimize wait times
- Assist with patient registration, including collecting and verifying billing and payment information
- Provide administrative support to clinical staff, including managing medical records and assisting with patient follow-up
- Handle patient inquiries and direct them to appropriate resources or staff members
- Ensure the front desk and waiting areas are clean, organized, and welcoming
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a medical service environment, specifically with front desk activities preferred
- Knowledge of Federal & NY State patient privacy regulations/laws a plus
- Experience working with diverse populations, including the LGBT community
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and helpful under stress
- Ability to multi-task
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
