POSITION OVERVIEW: Under direct supervision, this role offers foundational technical assistance in various sectors including maintenance, construction, intermodal operations, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental management, or traffic systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide entry-level technical support in areas such as Maintenance, Construction, Intermodal Operations, Planning, Utilities, Surveying, Environmental Management, or Traffic Systems.
- The selected candidate will be required to complete the Construction Technician assessment as designated by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willingness to learn and perform routine support tasks relevant to the assigned program area (e.g., construction, surveying, traffic operations, laboratory testing, or data collection).
- Capability to operate necessary equipment and/or instruments as required.
- Ability to assist in data collection or gather information as requested.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental math skills (percentages, area calculations for various shapes, volume computations, and unit conversions).
- A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
