POSITION OVERVIEW: Under close supervision, the role involves providing foundational technical assistance in various domains including maintenance, construction, intermodal operations, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental management, or traffic systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The selected candidate will be tasked with delivering entry-level technical support across several areas such as: Maintenance, Construction, Intermodal Operations, Planning, Utilities, Surveying, Environmental Management, or Traffic Systems. The candidate will also be required to undertake the Construction Technician assessment as mandated by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· A high school diploma or GED is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Willingness to learn and perform routine support tasks relevant to the assigned program area (e.g., construction, surveying, traffic operations, laboratory testing, or data collection).
· Capability to learn the operation of necessary equipment and/or instruments.
· Ability to assist in data collection or gather information as needed.
· Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
· Demonstrated understanding of fundamental math skills (e.g., percentages, area calculations for various shapes, volume calculations, and unit conversions).
· A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
