Job Description

Overview:


Oversee inspection teams responsible for conducting evaluations and assessments for nuclear initiatives at various phases to ensure compliance with quality standards outlined in regulations, guidelines, and engineering specifications.

Proficient in executing evaluations and inspections.

Key Responsibilities:


Conduct discipline-specific evaluations, examinations, and tests as mandated by established procedures and/or industry standards.

Familiarity and proficiency with the tools and equipment utilized in performing evaluations, examinations, and tests are essential.

Ability to ascertain the calibration status of measuring and testing equipment (M&TE), ensure M&TE is in proper working condition, and confirm that evaluation, examination, and testing procedures are authorized.

Moreover, demonstrate skills in planning evaluations, examinations, and tests; setting up tests including preparation and configuration of related equipment, as necessary; supervising evaluations, examinations, and tests; reporting results of evaluations, examinations, and tests; and assessing the validity and acceptability of evaluation, examination, and test outcomes.

Proven ability to lead and manage the activities of inspectors within a discipline, and implement the Quality program requirements effectively.

Capable of taking the lead in developing inspection test procedures and reports as required for the assigned project, and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications to ensure adequate provisions have been made for evaluation and testing.

The individual should also possess knowledge of the fundamentals of cross-disciplinary activities.

Qualifications

Experience/Competencies:


A minimum of ten years of successful performance as a Level II in the relevant inspection or testing category; or a high school diploma combined with 7 years of relevant experience in equivalent inspection or testing roles; or completion of college-level coursework leading to an associate degree in a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience in equivalent inspection or testing roles; or graduation from a four-year college with 3 years of relevant experience in equivalent inspection or testing roles.

In addition to competencies expected of a Senior Inspector, the candidate should have developed extensive expertise in their discipline and a broad understanding of other disciplines; anticipate challenges; and apply expertise to complex issues. Provides leadership, mentoring, and guidance to peers.

Progression to this level is typically governed by business needs.
